Survival Strategies You Should Practice Carefully
Spending a lot of time thinking of survival strategies is a good thing to do. You never know when an emergency situation can arise or disaster strikes. This is why being prepared at full times is the best thing to do if you want to ensure your survival everywhere you go or no matter what might happen.
But there are also bad survival strategies that won’t do anything to help you during emergency situations or disasters. Some of these strategies can kill you, which is why you need to think carefully before following them.
Hunting For Your Own Food
If you think that hunting for your own food is easy, you are wrong. Hunting wild animals is indeed a good source of food but only, if you know how to do it. Hunting for food is not as easy as you think. To make things worse it can put you in a more difficult survival situation. If you hunt for food, you’ll be exposing yourself to other wild animals that could also prey on you.
This is why hunting for your own food is one of the bad survival strategies that you mustn’t do unless you are trained for it.
Venturing Into The Wild Alone
Never go into the wild by your lonesome. We know that being alone allows you to make your own decisions, making you mentally stronger. But this is not the case when going into the wild. You can go alone anywhere else but not in the wild. The wilderness is full of dangers on every corner. You need to have a companion that has the same skills and assets as yours especially if you go into the wild for a couple of days.
Stocking Up On Guns & Other Weapons
This is actually a good thing to do, but only if you know how to use guns and weapons. Having a gun won’t do you anything good if you haven’t used or practiced with it before.
Also, why would you even need to stock up on guns for survival situations? It’s not like you are going to a gunfight. There’s also the fact that guns are kind of heavy and bulky. You’ll only have a hard time carrying with you during emergency and survival situations.
Hiding Supplies From Other People
You don’t want to hide supplies from other people. Because if they know that you have plenty of food, water, and other supplies during a disaster, they will come rushing to your door. To make things worse, they might even kill you for your supplies especially if you don’t give them.
The best thing to do here is to create a disaster plan with other people, especially with your neighbors. This will allow you to help one another during a disaster or an emergency so all of you will never run out of survival supplies.
Making A Disaster Plan Without Any Action
Yes, making a disaster plan is a good thing to do but it will never be enough. A disaster plan can only do as much. You need to make it come into action or practice it in order for it to be effective. The key to finding out if your disaster plan is effective or not is to practice it. You can do drills for all your family members on how to evacuate, how to communicate, applying first aid, starting a fire, making a shelter, finding water, and hunting or gathering food.
What about you? Have you heard of any bad survival strategies from other people aside from the ones mentioned above? If so, feel free to give us your thoughts.
